ABOUT
Hello! My name is Mike. I'm a guy who has been living in the Negev Desert for the last 35 years. I "cut out" of work a couple of years ago after 30 years in the company (early retirement) and am now free to do some really cool stuff like studying for a teaching certificate at a local college.
Although it may be a desert in the geographical sense, the place is a virtual sea of action and creativity.
The Environmental High School in "Midreshet Ben Gurion" is located in the middle of the Negev in Israel. The idea behind the boarding school stems from Israel's first Prime Minister David Ben Gurion's vision: he saw the desert as a place to be studied and discovered. Today, students at the school have direct contact with the nature that surrounds them - so they can learn to cherish and take care of it.
Based on my interaction with young people, I have come to the conclusion that they lack a certain understanding of how the economic world operates. The intention is to have a two-fold approach to the subject: 1) teach basic economic terms and ideas; 2) adapt it to an EFL class. It is my sincere hope that this site can contribute building blocks for high school students on the path to a better understanding of the world in which they will be exposed to later in life.
